Need help? Drop by our Fear-Not Fridays, every Friday from 4-5pm at the Library to learn how to download/stream free eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, and films. All you’ll need is your library card, PIN #, and your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc).
Or, if you live in the 94941 zip code and need one-on-one help, you can schedule a 45-minute Book-a-Librarian training session.
You can also visit these Help pages from our digital content providers:
Q: What do I need in order to use the Library’s databases or download ebooks or eaudiobooks?
A: You will need your Mill Valley Library card # (all 14 digits) and pin #. If you have forgotten your pin #, you may reset it online. If you don’t have a pin # come into the library and we’ll help you set one up.
Q: I am not a Mill Valley resident, but I have a library card for a Marin County Library. Can I access your databases?
A: You can access some of our databases–we subscribe to a number of databases as a MARINet consortium. However, there are some databases which Mill Valley Public Library subscribes to on its own and are only available to patrons living in the 94941 zip code (your library account must reflect this).
If you do not live in the 94941 zip code, you can contact your home library to find out which databases you have access to.
Q: I know my pin # and my library card #, but I still can’t access any of the databases. What’s wrong?
A: If you have entered your library card # and pin # correctly and still cannot access the database, it’s possible that:
- your library card is expired
- you are trying to access one of Mill Valley Public Library’s databases which requires you to live in the 94941 zip code (see the above question)
- there is something wrong with either the link to the database or the database website itself.
Don’t hesitate to call the Mill Valley Library Reference desk: (415) 389-4292 x3 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to assist you.
