The old Mill Valley Public Library at 52 Lovell Avenue, a Carnegie Library, was open from 1911 to 1966.

Fact #4: In 1917, Librarian Sybil Nye was granted a six week leave to take a course in Library Methods at U. C. Berkeley, where she purchased a $3.50 "Dewey Decimal Classification" for the library after using one in the course.
