Late Night Study Hall

late_night_web_bannerDecember 19, 20 & 21 from 9-11 PM

It’s finals week and all you want is some place where you can study (either in groups or alone) after school closes, and take a break every now and then to catch up with your friends. Well, you’re in luck! The Mill Valley Library will stay open, just for high school students, an extra two hours: from 9-11 PM. Bring a friend and a cup of coffee and get your finals-acing self down to the Library. For high school students only.

Board Game Night

We’ll have new and old favorites like Settlers of Catan, Twister, Ticket to Ride, and Superfight! Sweet and salty snacks will be provided. If this proves popular, we could make it a regular event.

Altered T-shirts

Altered T-shirts | November 3 | 7:00 – 8:30pm

Self Defense for Teens

Oakland’s Suigetsukan Dojo will teach the importance of being aware of your environment and the basic mechanics of releases from grabs and the use of pressure points. You’ll also learn appropriate levels of response to a threat and work on verbal de-escalation strategies.

Weekly Creative Writing Workshops

Weekly creative writing workshops start Wednesday, September 7 and continue on Wednesday nights from 7 to 8:30pm, through November 16. Creekside Room. High school students only.

Meet Anna Mahrer, who will use her BFA in Creative Writing and her love of workshopping stories to help you explore your own writing skills in a relaxed environment. The weekly workshops aren’t about getting a good grade or writing a critical analysis,  they are about trying new things and creating something exciting. No registration required; drop-ins welcome.

End of Summer Party

Have one last summer hurrah with free Sol Food, live music, and more at the End of Summer Party in the Amphitheater. We’ll draw raffle prizes for some lucky summer reading participants and listen to great music. You don’t need to attend the party to win…but we’d love to see you there!
